Ted Simmons is the chief instructor for the Electrical Trades programs at British Columbia Institute of Technology. He is actively involved with the development of Electrical Codes and Standards and is a member of the Executive Committee for the Canadian Electrical Code Part I, where he is the current chair of Sections 16, 26 and 64. Ted is a member of the Strategic Steering Committee on Requirements for Electrical Safety (SCORES) and is also a member of the following technical committees: International Standards; Objective-Based Industrial Electrical Codes (OBIEC); Wiring Products; and Wind Turbines.
Ted serves on the Safety Standards Appeal Board for the Province of BC and is the recording secretary for the Electrical Inspector’s Association of BC. He is also the contributing code editor for the Electrical Line magazine. He was recently presented with a CSA Award of Merit in recognition of his valued involvement, knowledge and expertise in the development and advancement of electrical codes and standards.
