For a Condition 1 location, as shown in figure 3, exposed live parts are present on one side of the working space. There are no live, grounded, or exposed live parts on the other side of the working space.  This “other side” of the space is also effectively guarded by insulating materials. This 900 mm (3 ft.) depth would hold true regardless of the voltage involved.
