The Georgia State Codes Advisory Committee (SCAC) has unanimously voted to recommend the adoption of the following codes with an effective date of January 1, 2021:
- 2020 National Electrical Code with no state amendments (Mandatory Code)
- 2018 International Existing Building Code (IEBC) with five state amendments (Permissive Code)
- 2018 International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC) with five state amendments (Permissive Code)
The SCAC will present these code adoption recommendations to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) Board on November 18, 2020. The Georgia DCA Board meeting will be held at the Georgia DCA Main Offices located at 60 Executive Park South NE in Atlanta, Georgia in Board Room 302 at 10:30 AM.
