Lockout and tagout (lockout/tagout) activities are important for those employees who are servicing or maintaining machines or equipment. When performing this work, they may be exposed to serious physical harm or death if hazardous energy is not properly controlled. There are approximately 3 million workers who service equipment and face these risks. Lockout/ tagout compliance helps prevent an estimated 120 fatalities and 50,000 injuries each year.
