Utility requirements in California are somewhat unique and are not widely duplicated by the rest of the country. This article is California-centric on PV. The 2016 California Electrical Code (CEC) is based on the 2014 NEC. Some of the 2016 CEC quotes/requirements may not be identical to the 2014 NEC. And, of course, the country is adopting the 2017 NEC, which is considerably modified from the 2014 NEC in the PV sections. — Editor
