Celebrating the Remarkable Career and Retirement of Cathy Higgs

It is with mixed emotions that we announce the retirement of our esteemed colleague and friend, Cathy Higgs, effective June 28, 2024. After 21 of dedicated service, she has decided to embark on a new chapter in her life and bid farewell to IAEI.

Throughout her tenure, Cathy has been an invaluable asset to our team, contributing her expertise, professionalism, and unwavering commitment. She has played a pivotal role in keeping the office and team running smoothly and has consistently exemplified excellence in her work.

Cathy first joined IAEI in November 2002 as the bookkeeper. After the retirement of Natalie Coleman in 2013, Cathy assumed the responsibilities of Office Manager while still keeping the responsibilities of the bookkeeper. In January 2020, Cathy was promoted to the title of Director of Administrative Services, working in a variety of roles such as bookkeeper, human resources, office management, chapter representative, SCD audits management, and anything else that came up.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude for Cathy’s exceptional contributions to our team and IAEI as a whole. Her dedication, passion, and mathematical and organizational skills have truly made a lasting impact, inspiring us all to reach new heights.

As Cathy embarks on this well-deserved retirement, we want to extend our warmest wishes for a future filled with joy, relaxation, and new adventures. May she enjoy the fruits of her] labor and embrace the opportunities that lie ahead.

To celebrate Cathy’s achievements and bid her a fond farewell, IAEI gifted her and her husband round-trip tickets to Puerto Rico to visit her nephew and his family.

Cathy has been training Jennifer Krueger to replace her in her current position. Going forward, if you have any questions regarding the section, chapter, and division audits, please reach out to her at jkrueger@iaei.org.

Once again, let us congratulate Cathy on an outstanding career and thank her for her incredible contributions. While we will miss her presence, we are excited to see her embark on this new phase of life and create wonderful memories outside of the workplace with her family and friends.
